[[The Assassination of Hector Puente, pt. 1 | Before pressing on into the Gaeatronics facility], Romeo strips the guard of his biomonitor and attaches it to himself, then forwards all calls from the corpse’s comm to his own. Team Quattro then stashes his body, along with the dog’s, along the side of the road.
The second fence they come to gives the air that faint hint of electrical charge. As CB walks up to hack it, he trips and almost cooks himself on it. Righting himself, he gets to work disabling all sorts of security – cameras, the electric fence, a drone, and even a seismic detector – and leaves the gate for the trolls.
And by trolls, that mostly meant Alganon, who almost pulled Benzine down right along with the gate.
As soon as they’re through, they lose Romeo, and the three of them trying to sneak has historically been pretty hopeless. Benzine decides to try something new, and sets himself up as bait on the road, which would hopefully give Alganon and CB time to take out the next guard that Catapult has told them is between them and Puente’s bungalow.
CB gets the identity of an inmate named Garpet Moden, the only troll inside, and known widely as a trouble maker. Given that, and the fact that Benzine has far from the most dynamic personality in the world, the plan failed miserably. The guard didn’t believe him, Barricade and CB missed, and since Benzine took off his armored coat as a part of trying to blend in, he got pretty fucked up by the guard and hellhound.
Losing control, he ‘lusts, and unleashes hell, incinderating the guard. That left Al and CB with the hellhound.
Fearing the worst since Benzine started casting, and with a watcher spirit at their primary entry point, they sprint the rest of the way to *Hector Puente’s* last registered location. Alganon and a rage filled, bloodied Benzine burst in, beating and stabbing the sleeping man, trying to get a jump on the blood mage.
Instead it was some old dwarf. Things were quickly turning into a disaster.
Cussing, and thinking quick, the team runs to the next closest bungalow, barging in again, and coercing it’s occupant into giving them Hector Puente’s location. He tells them it’s a couple bungalow’s back.
Racing against time, with alarms starting to go off, they charge into a hallway with doors on either end. They take up positions at either end, throw them open, and find Puente standing over a woman, in a bed, with a knife held high in the air just waiting to drop…
